What was the Wembley Cup?

The Wembley Cup, was a charity football tournament played at Wembley Stadium and held annually between 2015-2018. Next Level Talent facilitated and organised the event that consisted of the biggest YouTube creators such as the Sidemen, ChrisMD, Spencer FC and ex professional players such as Steven Gerrard, Robbie Savage and Robert Pires.

35,000,000 total series views.

290 years worth of viewing time for EE brand immersion with the audience.

300% increase in EE brand searches during the campaign.

8% increase for brand consideration for EE within the specific and targeted audience of 16-35 year olds.

For the first time in 6 years EE was number 1 in preference against O2 amongst the target audience.

Goal from NLT campaign

In the build up to the tournament, a video series was uploaded to the Spencer FC YouTube channel which showcased a number of challenges to determine the squads for the final game. Squads consisted initially of YouTube content creators, with some ex-professionals (referred to in the series as “Legends”).

All matches were also uploaded to the Spencer FC YouTube channel, with matches at Wembley from 2016 onwards being livestreamed as well as being watched by a crowd in the stadium.
